Description
If you are experiencing an offset between the actual engraving position and the photo position previewed by the camera, please try to use the following steps to manually adjust the camera's preview position.
_______________
Tools:
- A flat A4 printing paper
- Wood/MDF x 4pcs (Must be the same thickness, flat, size: 5cm x 5cm or above)
_______________
Step 1 - Firmware Version Check
As this function is only available in firmware version 5.1.9 or above, make sure your firmware version is up to date.
Please refer to the following instructions to check the firmware version and update the firmware.
Firmware Update
_______________
Step 2 - Perform Camera Calibration
The purpose here is to ensure that the center area in the camera preview is accurate.
Please use the prepared A4 paper and follow the instructions in the link below to perform camera calibration.
Camera Calibration
_______________
Step 3 - Flatten the Aluminum Sheet
An uneven sheet at the bottom will cause the adjustment to be incorrect. Therefore, flattening the sheet with a board will be necessary.
_______________
Step 4 - Place the Wood Pieces in the Corners
Place the wood pieces according to the photo below. Matching the edges of the sheet and the wood will be suggested. The wood pieces are not necessary to be pushed outward to the frame.
_______________
Step 5 - Perform Auto-focus at the Top-left Corner
As in the photo below, manually move the laser module to the area circled in red and perform auto-focus. (Use the physical button or the touch panel - main page)
_______________
Step 6 - Close the Door and Check if there's any Gap
After closing the door cover, make sure there's no gap between the door cover and the frame.
If it cannot be closed without a gap or rebound, this may be because the door cover is too tight. Please refer to this page to lubricate the door cover.
Good Example - No Gap:
_______________
Step 7 - Download the Testing File
Please download the file according to the module you have.
_______________
Step 8 - Beam Studio Version Check
As this function has to be used with the auto-preview function which is only available in Beam Studio version 2.2.9 or above, make sure your Beam Studio is up to date.
Please refer to the following instructions to check the BeamStudio version and re-install it if necessary.
Software Download
_______________
Step 9 - Run the Testing File
Launch Beam Studio and load the testing file.
Take one shot using the camera preview to make sure those four red cubes are on the wood pieces then start the task.
(Do not open the cover or move the wood pieces as the later steps will be done using the software or the touch panel)
_______________
Step 10 - Take another Shot after Task Finished
After finishing the task, do not move the wood pieces or open the door cover.
Please directly take another shot to see if there is an offset between the actual engraving and the photo. You can zoom in on the corners to check the cubes.
Good Example:
Perfect: The black cube matches the red cube | Good: Off a bit but acceptable. |
NG範例:
The actual engraving (black cube) is to the lower left and needs to be adjusted. | The actual engraving (black cube) is to the right and needs to be adjusted. |
_______________
Step 11 - Go to the Adjustment Page on the Panel
- Go to the page using the panel as shown in the video below.
- Please take a photo before changing any parameters in case of a situation that needs restoration.)
- Machine >> Settings >> Hardware Settings >> Camera Precision Adjust
_______________
Step 11.1 - Camera Offest Function Explained
-
These 9 vaules represent the 9 areas in the actual area.
-
Click on one value to adjust a single area.
-
The arrows on the screen are for the above-mentioned blocks 1: top-left, 3: top-right, 7: bottom-left, and 9: bottom-right, to adjust the entire area in equal proportions.
This means that when you use arrows to adjust a corner, the system will automatically bring in the values in other areas to reduce the gap between the blocks, in case of causing the preview to be uneven or twisted.
(In most cases, only arrows are used for adjustment.)
-
"all 0" is to make all the values to "0".
-
"Save" is to save the change. Every time you modify a value or more, it's necessary to click the "Save" button. Otherwise, the changes won't be saved.
_______________
Step 11.2 - The values in relation to the preview explained
Because the principle behind this adjustment is relatively complex, users only need to remember the following formula:
-
Increase the value = shrink the screen = shrink the engraving black cube
(The larger the value, the screen shrinks more)
Example of Increasing the Value:
-
Decreasing value = Pushing screen outward = Pushing the engraving black cubes outward
(The smaller the value, the screen will be pushed more)
Example of Decreasing the Value:
_______________
Step 12 - Enable the Auto-preview Function in Beam Studio
In Beam Studio, after clicking on the camera icon, there will be a circle icon. Click on the circle icon to enable the auto-preview function meaning the camera will continuously take photos.
_______________
Step 13 - Start Adjusting
The adjustment method is to first change the parameters on the machine's touch panel and press "Save". After that, check on the software to see whether the actual engraving black cubes are getting closer to the red cubes.
(Moving the computer closer to the machine is recommended for an easier adjustment.)
When the black and red cubes are matching each other, the adjustment will be done.
If you are still confused on how to adjust, you can refer to:
_______________
Examples
Example #1 - Black Cubes are all Located Outwards of the Red Cubes:
Suggestion:
Increase the values in all four corners to make the cubes shirk. You can also refer to the video.
_______________
Example #2 - Black Cubes are all Located Inwards of the Red Cubes
Suggestion:
Decrease the values in all four corners to make the cubes shirk. You can also refer to the video.
_______________
Example #3 - Only One Black Cube is Off:
Suggestion:
According to the offset in the photo above, the bottom-right black cube is off outwards.
Please increase the value for the bottom-right area to make the black cube shirk
As increasing the values for the bottom-right will also increase other areas, please decrease other areas' values slightly.
_______________
Example #3 - The Black Cube is off to the Right or the Left:
Suggestion:
According to the offset in the photo above, the top-left black cube is off to the left of the red cube and the bottom-right black cube is off to the right of the red cube.
Increase the values of the top-left corner to make the top-left black cube shirk.
Increase the values of the bottom-right corner to make the bottom-right black cube shirk.
Increasing those two values would also increase the other two, so decreasing the other two's values slightly would be necessary.
This example may not align perfectly with the red cubes, so the ideal situation may be to adjust to an acceptable range.
(If it cannot be adjusted to an acceptable range, please take a screenshot of your preview photo and contact customer service directly.)
Top-left: Acceptable example | Bottom-right: Acceptable example |
_______________
Example #4 - Irregular Offset
Suggestion:
According to the offset in the photo above, all four black cubes are off in different directions.
This won't be possible to be fixed by adjusting. Please take a screenshot of your preview photo and contact customer service directly.
_______________
Example #4 - The Offset is too Big:
Suggestion:
According to the example in the photo above, the offset is greater than the size of a red cube.?
It is not recommended to adjust this.
Please take a screenshot of your preview photo and contact customer service directly.
_______________
Example #6 - The Preview is Twisted after the Adjustment:
Suggestion:
According to the example in the photo above, the difference between the values set may be too big.
It is recommended to reset it to zero ("all 0") first and then readjust it again.
Please give priority to using the arrows to adjust first, rather than making individual adjustments.
After the re-adjustment, even if the red frame and black frame merge, the captured image is still distorted, this would be considered unacceptable.
Please take a screenshot of your preview photo and contact customer service directly.
