Description:
If the levelness of the X-axis is not horizontal enough, the limit switch might not be touched by the laser head and resulting in a homing issue. It might also affect the results in engraving and cutting.
The X-axis has to be parallel to the sheet metal part at the front of the machine.
Tool:
- 2mm Hex Key
- A plier
- A piece of wood or acrylic (5cmx10cm)
Step 1
Check the levelness with a piece of wood or acrylic.
Step 2
Find the coupler and its four stop screws.
Step 3
Loosen the four screws on the coupler.
Use pliers to apply more torque if the screws are too tight. It's normal to hear a cracking sound when the screw becomes loose.
Step 4
The X-axis gantry is now wobbly. This is also the way we adjust the levelness.
Adjust the X-axis gantry as in the video below.
Step 5
After the adjustment, tighten the screws of the coupler.
Step 6
After that, check if the gantry is wobbly (Check if the coupler is tight.).
Final check for the levelness.
