Description
This article will explain the two different focus modes that Beambox II has.
Different focus modes will give different focus distances, and they can be applied to materials or engraving objects of different sizes.
Focus Mode Explanation
By default, the focus lens will be at the top, and the focus lens will be 4mm, meaning the distance between the nozzle tip and the surface of the material will have a distance of 4mm.
For some materials, the nozzle tip might not reach the default 4mm. Therefore, increasing the distance can be applied by changing the lens's position to the bottom of the nozzle.
When the lens is at the bottom, the distance between the tip and the surface can be increased to 16mm.
How do you change the position of the lens?
| 1. Disassemble the Lens |
2. Determine the Order of the Focus Mode

Hardware Settings On the Panel
Power up the machine and go to "Hardware Settings" to choose the correct focus mode.
Once the mode is selected, the machine will automatically change the focus distance according to the selected mode when performing auto-focus. The default will be the Close Focus (4mm).
Note:
Please ensure you have the same lens order in the nozzle as the table above.
If not, the laser will be unfocused or misfocused, and the engraving results will fail or be terrible.
Machine >> Hardware Settings >> Next page >> Focus Mode >> Select the one matches your lens order
