Laser Shutter Add-on
⚠︎ Safety Instructions & Operation Notice
- Always wear laser safety goggles when using the Passthrough slot or operating with the bottom cover open.
- When using the machine with the bottom cover open, be sure to insert the included USB key.
- Do not leave the machine unattended during operation. Constantly monitor laser output and ensure the shutter does not obstruct it.
- Even with Class 4 mode enabled and the USB key inserted, the machine’s door and rear cover retain safety interlock features.
Opening any cover automatically pauses laser output and stops the operation to ensure user safety. - Please attach the warning label above the passthrough opening.

Please keep the cover securely for future use.
Step 3
Remove the two screws at the rear side of the machine.
Please keep the cover securely for future use.
Step 4
Rearrange the air hose as in the video below.
(The air hose should be detached first, and its path will be rearranged and then re-attached.)
Step 5
Detach the laser nozzle by turning the ring.
Step 6
Detach the ring from the nozzle extension add-on.
Attach the nozzle extension add-on to the machine using the ring.
Step 7
Reassemble the nozzle with the lens.
- Ensure the lens is in the default order.
- Ensure that the curved side of the lens has to be facing up.
(A tip to quickly determine the curved side is that it should reflect your whole face when you look at it.) - Ensure that the air hose is not bent.
Explanation
By default, the focus lens will be at the top, and the focus lens will be 4mm, meaning the distance between the nozzle tip and the surface of the material will have a distance of 4mm.

Demonstration
⚠︎ Notice: To prevent potential damage, please avoid placing the air tube in the laser path indicated by the red arrow in the image below.
⚠︎ Notice: Please also arrange for the air hose to be on the right side of the laser nozzle to avoid causing homing issues.
Step 8
Enable the air-flow test function on the panel and manually move the laser head around to see if the result is normal. Especially move the nozzle to the left side, as the air hose will likely hit the side of the machine and cause bending.
Step 9
Go to "Hardware Settings" to choose the default focus mode.
Machine >> Hardware Settings >> Next page >> Focus Mode >> Choose the "Close Focus" (Default)
Step 10
The height of the nozzle can be changed by using the finger screws on the side.
Step 11
You can now place a longer piece of material inside the machine.
Ensure the vent hose won't block the rear side of the material.
Step 12
Perform manual focus using the tool. The tip of the tool has a thickness of 4mm, and we will use it to focus. (If your tool is lost, you can use the instructions to cut a new one yourself.)
Step 13
Move the laser head to the area you want to engrave or cut and close the door.
Step 14
- Launch Beam Studio and import or create a file.
- Set the correct parameters based on your material.
- Enable the current position for the starting position in document settings.
- Start the task.
Step 14
Check the result.
