⚠︎ Please ensure your Beam Studio and beamo II firmware were updated to the latest version.
Description
This article will guide you through the process of performing a camera calibration.
When Camera Calibration is Needed
1. When using the machine for the first time.
2. When the machine has been relocated.
3. When there is a discrepancy between the camera preview and the actual engraving position.
Note:
Camera calibration is required for the initial use of the camera preview function.
Step 1 - Confirm the Version of Beam Studio and Firmware
Required software version: Beam Studio 2.5.11 or above.
Required firmware Version: 6.1.6 or above.
Step2 - Preparation
Materials to prepare:
Overlap and glue two A4 sheets of white paper to create a surface that measures approximately 19–28 cm in length and 31–40 cm in width, or use a light-colored wooden board of the same size.
Step 3 - Add a New Project and Process Camera Calibration
Add a new project and select the name of the machine you wish to use, and click "Calibrate Camera."
Step 4 - Place White Paper
Place a clean A4 white paper at the center of the working area and secure it by taping down all four corners with adhesive tape.
Step 5 - Drawing Calibration Image
Click "START ENGRAVE" to draw the calibration image.
Step 6 - Align Marker Points
Zoom in, zoom out, and adjust the photo's exposure to align the red marker points precisely with the eight drawn points.
Step 7 - Verify Calibration Results
Please draw four rectangles according to the following settings, and confirm whether all four sides of each rectangle fully align with the laser marking points.
Positions and dimensions:
- X = 30 mm, Y = 30 mm, W = 100 mm, H = 60 mm
- X = 230 mm, Y = 30 mm, W = 100 mm, H = 60 mm
- X = 30 mm, Y = 150 mm, W = 100 mm, H = 60 mm
- X = 230 mm, Y = 150 mm, W = 100 mm, H = 60 mm
If the rectangles do not align properly with the marking points, please refocus by adjusting the material height and performing camera calibration again to ensure positioning accuracy is restored.
