Recommended Cleaning Frequency
Depending on the frequency of use and materials, cleaning is recommended every 1-2 weeks.
Maintenance Steps
If the engraving material is paper or wood, it is easier for dust and oil to adhere to the reflective mirrors. You can use a cotton swab with a small amount of alcohol to clean the mirror surface until there are no stains left.
Preparation
Cotton swabs, 75%~99% alcohol
⚠︎ The HEXA RF model has a total of three reflective mirrors, one focus lens, one beam combiner, and one laser tube focus lens, totaling six mirror surfaces that need to be cleaned. When cleaning the mirrors, please ensure no water stains are left on the lens surface to avoid oxidation, as oxidation may affect the laser power. In addition, do not wipe too hard to prevent damaging the lenses.
Maintenance Steps
1. Clean the Laser Tube Focus Lens
You can open the back cover to wipe it, as shown in the image below.
2. Clean the First Mirror and Beam Combiner
You can open the back cover of the machine to clean them. Please note that both sides of the beam combiner need to be cleaned, as well as the first mirror.
3. Clean the Second Mirror
The second mirror is located on the left Y-axis guiding rod.
4. Clean the Third Mirror
The third mirror is located in the triangular mirror mount on the X-axis linear rail.
5. Clean the Focus Lens
The focus lens is located inside the laser head, directly below the third mirror.
a. Lower the work platform
b. Place a piece of material in the center of the work platform to prevent the lens from falling and breaking.
c. Remove the focus lens. (The example video features Beambox II)
d. Take out the focus lens and clean it.
