#913 Abnormal Air Flow Detection

Possible Causes:

  1. System anomaly (Update firmware, restore factory settings, or re-flash the SD card).
  2. Air tube bent or damaged.
  3. The transparent T-junction (T-fitting) on the sensor is bent or damaged.
  4. Mainboard failure.
  5. Air pump adapter board failure.
  6. Air pump is too weak.
  7. Air pump is too strong (Low probability).

Step 1

  • Replace the air pump filter on the side of the machine.IMG20250508171210.jpg

  • Ensure the air valve is in the OPEN position.

    Open

    Closed
  • Perform an airflow test.

 

Evaluate the test result and determine the next step:

  • Value is within normal range >> Step 3.1
  • Value is NOT within normal range >> Step 2

Step 2

Check if the air blowing from the laser head nozzle is normal.

  • Click "Action ➜ Air Pump" on the machine panel.
  • Place your hand or a piece of tissue paper under the laser head nozzle to feel if the air blowing is normal.

Evaluate the test result and determine the next step:

  • Yes, air is blowing out >> Step 3
  • No, NO air is blowing out >> Step 2.1

Step 2.1

Remove the machine side cover and check if the wiring and the T-junction are connected correctly.

  • Loosen the Phillips screws on the side to open the side cover.

     

  • Check or reconnect the air pump wires on the mainboard (Please turn off the machine first).

     
  • Disassemble the back cover and check if the air tube connections are loose or bent.

  • Check the air tube on the laser head.

  • Turn on the machine power and click "Action ➜ Air Pump" to check if the air blowing function is normal.

Evaluate the test result and determine the next step:

  • Yes, air is blowing out >> Step 3
  • No, NO air is blowing out >> Step 2.2

Step 2.2

Restore the machine to factory settings and test if air blows from the laser nozzle.

      1. Air pump failure, needs replacement.
      2. Mainboard failure, needs replacement.

Step 2.4

Enable the "Airflow Speed Test" on the machine panel and move the laser head to the four corners of the work area to verify if the value changes with the movement.
To enable the test: Click "Machine ➜ Hardware Settings ➜ Airflow Speed Test"

    • Possible Causes:
      • System corrupted, needs to re-flash the RK mainboard.
      • Mainboard failure, needs replacement.

Step 3

Enable the airflow value on the panel and move the laser head around the work area to see if the value changes while moving the laser head.

How to enable the Air Flow Speed Test.

Check the air tubes and the transparent T-junction for any leaks or damage.

  • Check the air tube on the laser head.

  • Check if the air tube connectors are leaking. Reconnect if necessary.

Open the side cover and check the black air tubes for any bends or kinks.

  • Open the side cover to inspect the machine interior.

  • Check the T-junction.

     
  • Check the air tube connectors for leaks. Reconnect if necessary.

  • No bends in air tubes >> Step 6

Step 5.1

Try to straighten the bent part of the air tube and test the airflow value.
Do NOT cut the air tube. This step is only to apply force to straighten it.

  • Value fluctuates between normal and maximum >> Contact Customer Service
    • Possible Cause:
      1. Air tube damaged, needs replacement.

      1. The air tube was previously bent, but has been successfully straightened and fixed.

    • Air tube is bent somewhere and cannot be seen.
    • Mainboard failure, needs replacement (Low probability).
    • T-junction failure, needs replacement (Low probability).
  • Value fluctuates between normal and abnormal ranges >> Contact Customer Service 
    • Possible Cause:
      1. Mainboard failure, needs replacement.
