FLUX Laser Cutting Machine Safety Guidelines Applicable to All Models
Before operating, please carefully read the following safety instructions. The machine generates high-power laser light, and improper operation may lead to fire, vision damage, skin burns, or inhalation of toxic substances, posing risks to personal and property safety.
Special Precautions
- Do not leave the machine unattended during operation; press the pause button if you need to leave.
- Always have a functioning fire extinguisher in the machine's working area.
- Do not disassemble the machine without authorization from FLUX.
- Avoid staring directly at the laser light during operation.
- Ensure the materials being processed do not emit dangerous fumes when burned at high temperatures.
Operators
- Ensure that everyone operating the machine has thoroughly read the safety instructions and operates according to the user manual. If you have any usage or safety questions, please contact FLUX at (02) 2651-3171 / support@flux3dp.com.
- Do not allow minors to operate the machine alone; they must be supervised and accompanied by an adult.
Working Environment
- Place the machine indoors, in a well-ventilated area with windows.
- Do not place the machine outdoors, in basements, or in enclosed spaces like metal sheds.
- Do not place the machine in damp areas or where it can be exposed to rain or direct sunlight.
- Ensure the environment temperature is between 5°C and 35°C and humidity between 10% and 75% for proper machine operation.
- If the machine's exhaust hose is directed outdoors, stop using the machine during rain or extreme weather and bring the hose indoors.
- Place the machine on a stable surface, and take precautions to prevent it from tipping over during earthquakes.
- Ensure all four feet of the machine are in contact with the surface, not suspended or tilted.
- Keep liquid containers, flammable, and explosive items away from the machine.
- Prevent children from playing near the machine.
Power and Cables
- The default voltage for machines ordered from the FLUX official website in Chinese is AC 110V. If your local voltage is 220V, do not plug in and turn on the machine to avoid danger.
- Ensure the power outlet is properly grounded.
- Avoid damaging power cords and plugs by keeping them away from heaters, bending, twisting, pulling, or placing heavy objects on them. Do not use the power cord if it is damaged.
- Regularly clean dust off the plug to prevent insulation failure caused by moisture, which could lead to fire. Unplug the plug and wipe it clean with a dry cloth.
- Turn off the power and unplug the machine when cleaning, maintaining, or disassembling internal parts with FLUX's consent.
Fire Risk
- Do not place unsuitable materials in the machine; learn more from "Material Techniques - Hazardous Materials."
- Do not stack materials inside the machine, such as attempting to cut multiple wood boards simultaneously.
- Regularly clean debris from under the honeycomb panel.
- Do not leave the machine unattended during operation, and monitor the ongoing laser work.
- If flames remain on the processed object after laser work, immediately turn off the power and unplug the machine.
- Use a damp towel to extinguish flames. For larger fires, use a fire extinguisher or call the fire department for assistance.
- Prevent water or fire extinguisher powder/foam from entering the machine, as it could cause irreparable damage.
Exhaust Ventilation
- Direct the exhaust hose outdoors or connect it to an air purifier.
- Ensure the exhaust hose does not affect neighbors or public spaces if directed outdoors.
- If you detect strong odors or smoke, stop using the machine and ensure the exhaust hose is properly connected and the ventilation system is functioning.
Additional Safety Instructions
- When operating beamo with the cover open, wear laser safety glasses with a protection level of OD5 (energy transmission rate 10^-5).
- Avoid staring at the laser light during operation.
- Do not subject the machine to strong vibrations to prevent optical path misalignment or laser tube damage.
- In case of laser burns, flush with cold water continuously and assess the need for medical attention. Do not self-medicate.
- Wear gloves when cleaning to avoid cuts from the honeycomb panel or material debris.
- Two people should carry the machine to avoid injuries due to its heavy weight.
Safety Switch
- The safety switch pauses the machine and stops laser output when the cover is opened. If the machine does not pause when the cover is opened, turn off the power, stop using the machine, and contact FLUX immediately. Do not operate with a faulty safety switch or attempt to remove or damage it.
- Even with a safety switch, avoid placing your hands, eyes, or other body parts near the laser's operating area to prevent accidents.
- When adjusting the optical path, always close the front cover before testing to avoid burns from a malfunctioning safety switch.
Stop Using the Machine Immediately If:
- Flames remain on the processed object after laser work.
- The laser head stops moving, but the laser continues to emit light.
- The machine makes unusual sounds or emits abnormal light.
- Any parts of the machine are damaged or malfunctioning.
