To use LightBurn to control beamo II, you should download the official release of the LightBurn software. As LightBurn is third-party software, FLUX cannot be held responsible for any loss caused by its operation.
The firmware of beamo II has undergone various tests, but it is still possible that some functions of the LightBurn software may not be compatible with the machine. If errors happen because of incompatibility, please follow the instructions in the link below to properly report an issue to your local reseller or FLUX support. [Contact Customer Service]
Before start
1. Please update the firmware to v6.1.15 or above.

2. Download and install the Driver.

LightBurn settings
There are two ways to connect to the machine using LightBurn.
One way is using a wired connection with a USB-B to USB-A cable.
The other way is using a Wi-Fi connection by connecting the computer and the machine to the same network.
We recommend using the Wi-Fi method. Please see the instructions below for the method you will use.
Connect with WIFI
1. Create a new beamo II device in LightBurn
Open LightBurn. In the Laser panel, click Devices, then choose the option to create a device manually. When the New Device Wizard asks for the controller, select GRBL and click Next.
2. Select the network connection method
For the GRBL connection method, select Ethernet or Wifi/TCP. Click Next.
Confirm that the computer and beamo II are on the same network before continuing.
3. Enter the beamo II IP address
Find your beamo II's IP address on the touch screen.
(If your machine hasn't made a WIFI connection, please refer to this article for setting up a connection.)
Enter the current IP address of your beamo II, then click Next. Find the machine IP address on the beamo II network-information screen.
The test machine used 192.168.1.247. This is an example only; enter the address assigned to your own machine.
4. Set the device name and workspace size
Enter a recognizable device name, such as beamo II Wifi. Select Millimeters and set the work area to:
- X-axis length: 300 mm
- Y-axis length: 210 mm
Click Next.
5. Set the machine origin and finish device setup
Select the rear-left corner as the machine origin. Review the summary and confirm the following values:
- Controller: GRBL
- Connection: Ethernet or Wifi/TCP
- Workspace: 300 x 210 mm
- Origin: rear-left
- IP address: the current IP of your beamo II
Click Finish. Open Device Settings once more to confirm the values were saved correctly.
6. Verify the machine connection and coordinate mode
Select the new beamo II device in the Laser panel. Open the Move panel and click Home to verify that LightBurn can communicate with the machine. Home the machine and move the Z axis to its home/zero position.
7. Continue the process
When you reach this step, it indicates that you have successfully connected the machine and the computer.
Please continue the process to start an engraving job for testing.

Connect with USB-B cable
1. Download this configuration file: beamo II_Preset
Note: The configuration file we provided contains the G-code and Baud rate settings. If you are not using the configuration file, please set it up separately in the "Device settings."
2. Open LightBurn and click "Devices" on the Laser tab.
3. Click "Import" to import the file beamo II_Preset you downloaded.
4. The following device information will be displayed once the file has been successfully imported.
Connect your computer to the machine with a USB cable.
1. Plug the USB cable into the USB-B port on the right side of the machine.
2. Insert the other end of the USB cable into the computer.
3. Select the correct USB Port name. Choosing the wrong port will result in a failed connection. You may need to try different ports. If the connection is successful, the following information will appear in the Console tab.
Homing test
If the computer is successfully connected to the machine, the machine will start homing automatically. If not, please click the home button to determine whether the homing function works.
Set up Chuck Rotary
Unboxing
For unboxing the Rotary Chuck add-on, please refer to the manual at the link below.
Step 1
Install the beamo II Extension Base Add-on, referring to the guide below.

Step 2
Turn off the machine and remove the drawer.
Step 3
Install the jaws on the rotary based on the material you will be using.
Please refer to the manual for the jaws installation instructions.

Step 4
Place the rotary in the machine and connect the cable.
Step 5
Measure your material's diameter or circumference and record it for later use.
(It's recommended to use a used material for practicing and testing purposes for the first time.)
Step 6
Grip the material with the rotary and level it.
(Please refer to the Rotary Chuck guide for gripping different shapes.)
Step 7
Turn on the machine.
Perform auto-focus on the surface of your targeted engraving area.
Move the nozzle tip to the center of the area you wish to engrave.
The red light dot indicates and determines the starting position.
Step 8
Enable the Chuck Rotary in LightBurn.
- Select type to Chuck
- Enable Rotary
- Enable the Mirror Output
- Select Rotary Axis to A Axis
- Enter your material's diameter or circumference
- OK
Step 9
Create an engraving object or import your own.
Depending on your design, it will usually be rotated 90 degrees to match the same orientation of the material.
Step 10
Change the Start From option to "Current Position". For the Job Origin, choose "Center."
Step 11
Use the "Frame" function to see the path of the engraving.
- Choose "Frame" to see the bounding box of the design or file.
- After clicking "Frame", the laser head will start moving, and the moving path will indicate the engraving area for this task.
- The starting point is the laser nozzle's current position.
- Its path will depend on the "Job Origin" selected in Step 10. When you select Center, the starting point is the design center. The center is usually used for rotary jobs.
- You can move the laser head to change the engraving area until you accept the position.
Step 12
Once you've confirmed the engraving position, set the correct speed and power rate parameters based on your material.
Step 13
Close the door and start the task.
Step 14
Check the result.
