Descriptions:
The #902 error is usually caused by the environment's Temperature (Room Temperature) being too high. It can also be caused by a cooling system failure, where there is not enough water or the cooling fans are not working. Please follow the steps below to determine what causes the issue.
High water temperature will degrade the laser tube faster, so it is recommended to prevent the overheated warning by decreasing the room temperature instead of increasing the water temperature threshold.
Possible Causes

Preparation Items:
Self-preparation :
1| Distilled water
Included in the accessory box:
2| Funnel
3| Double-head wrench
4| Torx screwdriver
Step 1 - Check the Water Temp. Threshold:
This setting stops the machine when the set Temperature is reached. (The default is 34°C.)
(Machine > Hardware Setting > Water Temperature Threshold)
- There are two scenarios in which the machine will be stopped when a certain Temp. is reached.
-
- If the set Temperature reaches (Default: 34°C), a warning will pop up, but the task won't be stopped right away. After 5 minutes, if the Temperature is not lower than the set temperature, the machine will stop automatically.
- When the Temp. reaches 40°C, the machine will stop at once.
- If the set Temperature reaches (Default: 34°C), a warning will pop up, but the task won't be stopped right away. After 5 minutes, if the Temperature is not lower than the set temperature, the machine will stop automatically.
|
Step 2 - Check if the water is 80% full:
If your machine doesn't have enough water, this may affect the flow speed to be lower.
- Remove the back cover with a Torx screwdriver (T8)
- You will find the water pump underneath the flow sensor.
- Check if the water is 80% full.
Determine your result and the next action to take:
|
|
|
Step 2.1 - Test the flow speed:
Please perform a flow speed test and see if the value is normal as 1.5L/min or above.
(Machine Panel > Machine > Hardware Settings > Flow Speed Test )
Determine your result and the action to take:
|
|
Step 3 - Check the cooling fans:
There are two cooling fans in the machine and they are underneath the screen.
Each fan must be working well to cool the water. Please see the instructions below to check the fans.
- Turn on the machine and enable the cooling system by pressing the "Pump" button.
Use a thin tissue and place it underneath the machine. If the cooling fans are working, the tissue should be sucked on the both sides.
Determine your result and the action to take:
|
|
Step 3.1 - Unplug and replug the cable of the cooling fans:
If the cooling fans are not all working, it could be caused by the improper connection of cables.
- Please unplug and replug the cables as instructed below. (Mainboard Diagram)
- After replugging, enable the fans again to see if they are now working.
(Refer to Step 3)
Determine your result and the action to take:
|
|
Step 3.2 - Reset to Factory
If the fans are not able to be turned on, it could be caused by firmware failure.
In order to exclude the possibility of firmware issues, please reset the machine.
-
Reset to Factory. (5-4-11 Reset to Factory)
- After the reset, enable the fans again to see if they are now working.
(Refer to Step 3)
Determine your result and the action to take:
|
|
|
Step 3.3 - Mainboard test:
We are going to check if the mainboard's slots for the fans are all working well.
- Swap the plugging position of the cables of the cooling fans on the mainboard.
- After swapping, enable the fans again to see if they are now working.
(Refer to Step 3)
Determine your result and the action to take:
|
|
|
Step 4 - Cool down the machine to 27°C or below:
- Try to cool the machine to 27°C by turning it off and turning on the air conditioner, fans, etc.
- Make sure your room Temp. is lower than 27°C.
- After the step above, check the Temp. on the panel.
Determine your result and the action to take:
|
|
Step 4.1 - Run the task where the error pops up:
- Directly run the same task using the same parameters and settings...etc.
Determine your result and the action to take:
|
|
Step 5 - Unplug the flow sensor and check the Temp:
This step is to check if the mainboard is having an issue reading the Temp. Usually, when the flow sensor is removed from the system, the Temp. reading should be around 260-290°C.
-
Unplug the cable of the flow sensor on the mainboard. (Mainboard Diagram)
(Refer to the diagram if your PCB board is not the same as the video.)
- Go to Maintain and check the Temp.
Determine your result and the action to take:
|
|
Step 5.1 - Repulg the flow sensor and try to cool down the machine:
This step is to check if the issue was caused by the improper connection of the flow sensor.
- Replug the cable of the flow sensor. (Refer to Step 5)
(Refer to the diagram if your PCB board is not the same as the photo below.)
- After replugging, try to cool down the machine to 27°C or below.
Make sure your room Temp. is below 27°C.
Determine your result and the action to take:
|
|
Step 5.2 - Run the task where the error pops up:
- Directly run the same task using the same parameters and settings...etc.
Determine your result and the action to take:
|
|
Step 6 - Reflash SD card:
Sometimes, the error can be caused by corrupted or damaged firmware that wasn't installed correctly. Taking this action can exclude the possibility of firmware issues.
-
Please refer to the instructions in the link below to reflash your SD card.
- Go to Step 6.1 after reflashing.
Step 6.1 - Cool down the machine and run the same task:
- After replugging, try to cool down the machine to 27°C or below.
Make sure your room Temp. is below 27°C.
- Directly run the same task using the same parameters and settings...etc.
Determine your result and the action to take:
|
|
Step 7 - Report to the local reseller or FLUX Support:
- Please follow the instructions in the link below to properly report an issue to your local reseller or FLUX support. 5-5 Contact Customer Service
- Make sure you've recorded a video or taken photos so you can share your test result and speed up the troubleshooting process.
*The collected information, such as photos or videos that show your machine's problem in this article, will need to be shared with the reseller or FLUX Support.
