Before start
Install the Rotary Module 2.0
To install the Rotary Module 2.0, please follow this article.
Note: Please turn off the machine before installing the Rotary.
Before getting started, ensure your Rotary Setting in the Beambox (Pro) is correct.
LightBurn settings
1. Import the configuration file and connect your computer to the machine with the LightBurn Bridge Cable. Please refer to LightBurn Bridge Cable - Beambox (Pro) for details.
2. Open LightBurn and click "Devices" on the Laser tab. ➡️ Enable "Show rotary enable on main window" in the Settings window that appears, and click "OK".
3. Turn on "Enable Rotary" on the right-side panel.
4. Choose "Laser Tools" ➡️ "Rotary Setup". Then, set the parameters for the Rotary Module as follows and click "OK".
Start operation
1. Place the material inside the machine
2. Focusing
- Click the "Stop" button in the "Laser" panel to lose the motor.
- Move the laser head above the material.
- Using the Focus Probe to adjust the focus on Beambox (Pro). If you have any focusing problem, please follow the instructions in this article. (Please make sure the distance is correctly set before each engraving/cutting operation.)
3. Import a file to LightBurn
Click on the icon above to import the file, or drag and drop the file directly into the work area.
4. Set the engraving parameters
Click the object of the layer and set the parameters in the lower-right corner of the Cuts / Layers tab.
5. Turn on the "Overscanning" effect
- If the layer is set to "Fill, Fill + Line, Image, Offset Fill" mode, we suggest you enable the "Overscanning" function.
- Double-click on a layer to access the "Cut Settings Editor". Turn on the Overscanning effect and enter the percentage.
Note: Parameter settings are different for each speed and material, please refer to the "Recommended settings for material parameters" at the bottom of this article.
6. Set the start position
Select "Current Position"" in the drop-down list of "Start From" on the Laser tab.
Note: As LightBurn does not support the camera preview function for alignment, the "Start From" setting is recommended to be set to "Current Position".
7. Move the laser head to the position you want to engrave.
- Click the "Stop" button in the "Laser" panel to lose the motor, then move the laser head to the position you want to engrave.
8. Close the door
9. Submit the file
- Enter "R1" in the "Console" window to turn on rotary mode.
- Click "Start" to submit the file.
10. Engraving completed
Note: To engrave non-rotary axis after using rotary axis, please enter "R0" in the right side panel "Console" to disable the rotary axis mode before engraving. This operation is only necessary when the job is interrupted or incomplete. It is not necessary when the job is completed under normal conditions.
