Tools:
- Phillips screwdriver
- 2mm hex driver (Allen key is NOT recommended)
Step 1
Turn off the machine and remove the black mylar film (protection sticker).
Step 2
At the back of the module seat, remove the three screws and the Z-axis board cover.
To see the top screw, move the head to the gap of the sheet metal.
Step 3
Open/unlock the clip of the cable and unplug the cable from the Z-axis board.
The remaining tape does not have to be cleaned.
Step 4
When facing the panel of the machine, on the left side, unplug the X-axis motor cable, remove the two 2mm hex screws, and remove the X-axis board cover.
(A long, thin hex driver is recommended, which gives more hand space.)
Step 5
Open/unlock the clip of the cable and unplug the cable from the X-axis board.
Step 6
Remove the 30-pin cable.
As there is double-sided foam tape behind the cable, it will be easy to leave tape residue if you tear it off directly. It is recommended to pull it up from the bottom to remove it.
If there is residue after removal, the black foam part must be removed. The white glue part does not need to be cleaned. It is recommended to watch the video once before trying to remove it.
Step 7
After confirming that the residue has been removed, apply the new double-sided foam tape to the inside of the sheet metal and tear off a section of it in advance to facilitate the next operations.
Before applying the tape, it is recommended to read through the content of step 7 first to understand the starting position and the position of the sheet metal bevel, and finally, watch the video to ensure that the tape is correctly applied.
-
Starting position:
The double-sided tape needs to be pasted toward the X-axis motor side. (the left side of the machine when facing the touch screen), and the starting position is about 2 cm to the right of the gap/opening.
-
Sheet metal bevel:
The position of the bevel surface is the part touched by the finger as shown below.
The tape CANNOT be attached to the bevel surface.
-
The tape should be applied to the lower edge of the marking line, that is, the lower edge of the bevel surface.

Step 8
Install the new cable on the Z-axis board. The cable should be in the middle of the slot. If installed correctly, the clip should be able to be locked easily.
Please see the following description to confirm the position where the cable should be inserted and ensure that the cable is installed correctly.
-
The two edges of the cable slot will be slightly higher, as shown in the picture.
-
The cable needs to be inserted in the middle. When inserted correctly, it should be at the same height as the edges, as shown in the picture.
(The clip is not locked in the picture.)
-
Only by inserting it correctly can the clip be locked easily, and the cable should be parallel to the slot, as shown in the picture. (The clip is locked in the picture.)
-
The cable needs to pass through/go behind the Z-axis control board bracket.

Step 9
Install the new cable on the X-axis board. The cable should be in the middle of the slot. If installed correctly, the clip should be able to be locked easily.
As explained in Step 8, please use the same method to plug the cable.

(The color of the board won't affect the way of installation.)
Step 10
Reconnect the X-axis motor cable, move the laser head, and then check if the LED light on the Z-axis control board is on.

Step 11
First, use a screw to fix the Z-axis control board in place. Then, power on the machine and use the left button to focus. Check if the laser head is correctly focused.

Step 12
Power off, remove the motor cable, install the X-axis control board cover, tighten the two 2mm hex screws, and reconnect the X-axis motor cable.
Step 13
Move the module seat to the right and insert the cable tool/jig on the X-axis bottom frame.
The thicker side of the tool will be facing down.
After that, completely remove the film from the tape. Align the bottom of the cable with the tool and push the cable backward to stick it onto the metal sheet.
The thick edge of the tool should be facing downwards. Align the lower edge of the cable with the upper edge of the tool, and then push it backward to stick it in place.

Step 14
Remove the cable tool and install the Z-board cover with the three screws.

Step 15
Attach the square sticker to the long Mylar.
Please note that the adhesive surfaces of the two mylars need to face each other.
