Description
This article will guide you through how to start an engraving task with FLUX Chuck Rotary.
However, it is strongly recommended that you read through the FLUX Chuck Manual before your first engraving.
Note: Please make sure before you start your engraving that the framing function in Beam Studio is used to determine and check if the actual engraving area and size are correct. (Referring to the Step 16.) |
Step 1
Please make sure you have the following software and firmware versions to use HEXA's rotary function.
Beam Studio Version 2.4.2 or above (Guide) |
The firmware version 4.3.5 or above. (Guide) |

Step 2
Install the HEXA Rotary Stands.

Step 3
Find the connection cable from the box and insert the cable on the rear-right side of the machine.
Step 4
Install the jaws on the rotary based on the material you will be using.
Please refer to the manual for the jaws installation instructions.

(*It's recommended to use unwanted material for practicing and testing purposes for the first time.)
Step 5
Place the Chuck Rotary with jaws installed on the stands and insert the cable into the device.
Step 6
Power up the machine and go to "Hardware Settings" to choose the correct rotary version.
Machine >> Hardware Settings >> Rotary Settings >> Chuck
Step 7
Measure your material's diameter or circumference and record it for later use.
(It's recommended to use the material used for practicing and testing purposes for the first time.)
*If your material's diameter is smaller than 25mm (circumference: 78.5mm), please go to Step 7.1.
Step 7.1
The focus lens's position has to be changed for engraving smaller material. (Diameter less than 25mm, circumference 78.5mm)

Step 8
Grip the material with the rotary and level it.
(Please refer to the Rotary Chuck guide for gripping different shapes.)
Step 9
Perform auto-focus for material's diameter above 25mm (circumference: 78.5mm).
*If your material's diameter is smaller than 25mm (circumference: 78.5mm), please go to Step 9.1.
(Auto-focus will not be available for smaller material.)

Step 9.1
Perform manual focus with the mini leveler that comes with the Chuck Rotary.

Step 10
Move the nozzle tip to the center of the area you wish to engrave.
Step 11
Launch Beam Studio.
Step 12
Go to "Document Settings" and make the changes.

Go to "Rotary Setup" and make the changes.

Create an engraving object or import your own.
Depending on your design, it will usually be rotated 90 degrees to match the same orientation of the material.
Step 15
After setting up your design, move the center of the design to the blue line.
Step 16
Use the "Running Frame" function to see the path of the engraving.

Step 17
Once you've confirmed the engraving position, set the correct speed and power rate parameters based on your material.
Step 18
Close the door and start the task.
Step 19
Check the result.
