Description
This article will guide you through how to start an engraving task with FLUX Chuck Rotary.
However, it is strongly recommended that you read through the FLUX Chuck Manual before your first engraving.
Note: Please make sure before you start your engraving that the framing function in Beam Studio is used to determine and check if the actual engraving area and size are correct. (Referring to Step 17.) |
Step 1
Please make sure you have the following software and firmware versions to use beamo's rotary function.
Beam Studio Version 2.4.2 or above (Guide) |
The firmware version 4.3.5 or above. (Guide) |

Step 2
Set up the machine to the Open Bottom Mode. Please refer to the instructions on the link below.
beamo - Open Bottom Kit
(Depending on the size of your material, the nozzle extension may or may not be necessary.)
Step 3
Place some material underneath the machine's feet to raise it. It is recommended that you raise it about 10 - 20 cm. The purpose is to increase the depth of the machine so that the Chuck Rotary can be placed inside.
Step 4
Find the connection cable from the box and insert the cable at the bottom of the machine underneath the screen.
Step 5
Install the jaws on the rotary based on the material you will be using.
Please refer to the manual for the jaws installation instructions.

Step 6
Place the Chuck Rotary with jaws inside the work area and insert the cable into the device.
Step 7
Power up the machine and go to "Hardware Settings" to choose the correct rotary version.
Machine >> Hardware Settings >> Rotary Settings >> Rotary Chuck
Step 8
Measure your material's diameter or circumference and record it for later use.
(It's recommended to use the material used for practicing and testing purposes for the first time.)
Step 9
Grip the material with the rotary and level it.
(Please refer to the Rotary Chuck guide for gripping different shapes.)'
Step 10
Perform auto-focus or manual focus.
- If your material is too small for the probe to reach the surface, add some materials underneath the rotary to raise it.
- If your material is too big for the probe and the space is not enough for the 12mm focus distance, add some materials underneath the machine to raise the machine.
