This article will guide you through the process of performing an advanced camera calibration.
When Advanced Camera Calibration is Needed
1. When the system has been reflashed.
2. When the camera module has been replaced.
Step1 - Confirm the Version of Beam Studio and Firmware
Required software version: Beam Studio 2.4.4 or above.
Required firmware Version: 6.0.6 or above.
Step2 - Preparation
Materials to prepare:
- A4 white paper or a light-colored wooden board of the same size.
- Download the chessboard and print it out on another A4 white paper.
Then, attach it to a firm, flat surface, like wood or acrylic, to avoid calibration issues caused by unevenness.
Step3 - Process Advanced Camera Calibration
Select the name of the machine you wish to use and click "Calibrate Camera (Advanced)."
Stpe4 - Place the Chessboard
Stpe5 - Move the Chessboard into the Red Square
After moving the chessboard into the red square, click next to calibrate.
Stpe6 - Check the score
If the score is poor, please try moving down the plates and then recalibrate until the score becomes Excellent.
Stpe7 - Place White Paper
Place a clean A4 white paper at the center of the working area and secure it by taping down all four corners with adhesive tape.
Step8 - Drawing Calibration Image
Click "START ENGRAVE" to draw the calibration image.
Step9 - Align Marker Points
Zoom in, zoom out and adjust the photo's exposure to align the red marker points precisely with the eight drawn points.
If the marker points appear off the white paper, as shown in the image below, follow these steps to adjust them.
a. Drag the photo frame to center the drawn 8-point pattern, then retake the photo.
b. Manually adjust all marker points.
