Step 1
Install the beamo II Extension Base Add-on, referring to the guide below.
beamo II - Extension Base Installation Guide
Step 2
Turn off the machine and remove the drawer.
Step 3
Find the main rail (the one with a belt) and remove the rail connectors.
(Other rail connectors may be in other rails.)
Step 4
Release the belt and find its long side.
Loosen the belt retainer by using the small Allen key.
| Short Side of Belt | Long Side of Belt |
Meanwhile, please tighten the belt retainer on the short side.
Step 5
Prepare the feeder and the main rail.
Insert the main rail into the pulley with the long side of the belt going in first.
Hook the belt upward onto the gear and guide it downward, forming a peak shape.
It is essential to insert it in this direction, ensuring that the long side of the belt remains on the same side as the feeder's flat surface.
Step 6
Fix the belt at the long side with the belt retainer that was removed earlier.
(Please ensure the belt is tight before fixing it.)
Please ensure the belt is well hooked on the pulley. If not, please remove the belt retainer and re-insert the feeder.
Step 7
Find the riser set.
Install the riser set at the end of the belt retainer, which was previously fixed.
(The video contains installing, removing, and changing positions for different height applications.)
Measure your material's thickness and check the table on the base.
The table indicates which level or layer you should use based on the thickness of your material.
| # | Thickness | # | Thickness |
| A | 3mm (Min.) - 12mm | F | 52mm - 62mm |
| B | 12mm - 22mm | G | 62mm - 72mm |
| C | 22mm - 32mm | H | 72mm - 82mm |
| D | 32mm - 42mm | I | 82mm - 92mm |
| E | 42mm - 52mm | J | 92mm (Max.) |
Place the riser according to the thickness of your material.
In my example, my material's thickness is 3mm. Therefore, the position will be "A" referring to the top shaft of the riser.
Step 8
Prepare 1 rail fixing beam and 2 long screws (M5x22).
Screw the screws on the sides of the beam.
Step 9
Prepare 2 rail magnets, 2 short screws (M5x6), and the roller set.
Install the magnets on the end of the beam.
Make sure the silver magnet side matches the screw thread.
Install the roller set on the beam.
Step 10
Open the front base cover to install the beam on the front base.
Check the riser's position in Step 7. The same position will be applied to the fixing beam.
In my example, the position is "A" referring to the top shaft; therefore, the beam will be installed at "A" on the base side as well.
In my example, the material's thickness is 3mm, and the position is "A", referring to the top shaft of the riser. Therefore, the beam will be installed at "A" on the base side as well.
Step 11
Prepare two rails and two medium screw (M5x12).
Install the rails inside the base, fixing them to the fixing beam at the front.
(Use the two scews holes beside the center screw hole.)
Make sure the white wheels are facing up.
Step 12
Prepare a rail and 2 long screws (M5x22).
Screw the screws on the sides of the beam.
Step 13
Prepare 2 rail magnets, 2 short screws (M5x6).
Install the magnets on the end of the rail.
Make sure the silver magnet side matches the screw thread.
Step 14
Open the back base cover to install the rail on the back base.
Check the riser's position in Step 7. The same position will be applied to the fixing beam.
In my example, the material's thickness is 3mm, and the position is "A", referring to the top shaft of the riser. Therefore, the beam will be installed at "A" on the base side as well.
Step 15
Prepare the feeder assembly and a long screw (M5x22).
Install the feeder assembly to the front fixing beam using the center screw hole.
Step 16
Prepare the connection cable and connect it to the extension base socket on the front to the right.
(The cable is a 6-pin to 6-pin cable. If you can't find the cable with tag, beamo II,
please use Beambox II's cable. It's the same 6-pin to 6-pin cable.)
Step 16
Prepare the adapter and connect the cable in the previous step to the adapter.
Step 17
If there is a cable tie on the Feeder's connection cable, please cut it.
Connect the Feeder's cable to the adapter.
Step 18
Place the material, ensure it is level against the Feeder, and then tighten the thumbscrews to secure the material.
If your material is too long to fit in, remove the riser set, the belt retainer, and add another rail with two rail connectors. After that, reinstall the belt retainer and the riser set, referring to Step 6 & Step 7.
Prepare two rail connectors and an extension rail (with white ball wheels).
Each block has four screws. Secure two screws on the main rail and two on the extension rail to achieve a firm clamping effect.
(Note: Ensure the extension rail has white wheels, as the wheels are for the feeders to move. The connectors have to be on the same side of the white wheels and at the bottom of the white wheels.)
For materials 3mm - 7mm, the auto-focus probe may not reach the surface. It's recommended to add other materials underneath the target material to raise it.
Push and pull the material forward and backward to test, while observing its appearance under the machine's bottom cover to confirm whether it is level.
Step 19
Use the rollers on the front fixing beam. The purpose of the rollers is to hold the material in position.
Demonstration on Level A
Demonstration on Level D with installation
Step 20
Turn on the machine and perform auto-focus on the material.
(For materials 3mm - 7mm, the auto-focus probe may not reach the surface. It's recommended to add another material underneath the target material to raise it. Please see Step 18.)
If the auto-focus probe can't reach the material, the level/layer can be changed quickly. Please refer to the video below.
Step 21
Prepare the safety key that comes with the machine. Insert the key on the machine.
(The Auto-feeder function is a Laser Class 4 function. Therefore, by following the regulation, the setting must be done.)
Set the safety key function on the screen.
Machine >> Hardware Settings >> Next Page(s) > Safety Keys Settings.
Enable the function >> Set password >> Choose Class 4 >> Agree >> Save.
Turn the key to the "Green" position, and you may be asked to enter the password.
Red - Vertical |
Green - Horizontal |
Step 22
Move the laser head to the engraving target area of your design. (Where you want to start the engraving.)
Step 23
- Launch Beam Studio and open the Document Settings.
- Set the Start Position to the Current Position and make it top-left.
- Enable the Auto Feeder function and input the length of your material (approximately).
Step 24
Set the correct parameters based on your material.
Step 25
Using "Framing" to preview the engraving path.
Step 26
Step 27
Check the result.
