Description
This article will guide you through the process of performing a 2W IR Infraed Laser add-on calibration.
When Camera Calibration is Needed
1. When using the module for the first time.
2. When the machine has been relocated.
3. When there is a discrepancy between the camera preview and the actual engraving position.
Note:
Camera calibration is required for the initial use of the camera preview function.
Step 1 - Confirm the Version of Beam Studio and Firmware
- Required software version: Beam Studio 2.5.11 or above. (Download Link)
- Required firmware Version: 6.1.6 or above. (Download Link)
Step 2 - Preparation
Materials to prepare:
An A4 black Bristol Board/Paper, black paper, or black acrylic.
Step 3 - Place the Black Paper
Place the black paper in the center of the workarea.
Step 4 - Perform Auto-focus
Manually move the laser head above the black paper, then lower the focus probe to trigger auto-focus.
After that, close the cover.
Step 5 - Enable the 2W infrared laser module
Launch Beam Sutido, connect to your machine, and enable the 2W IR Infrared Laser in Document Settings
Step 6 - Raise the brightness of the camera
Perform a camera preview and adjust the brightness of the camera using the tool at the bottom.
Step 7 - Start Infrared Module Calibration
- On the top bar, select "Machines" >> "Machine Name" >> "Calibration" >> "Calibrate infrared Module".
- Press "Next" and "Start Engraving," and the machine will automatically start the process.

A "+" Sign will be engraved on the black paper. A photo will be taken and shown on the software afterwards.
Step 8 - Align the "+" Sign
Align the red "+" sign with the engraved "+" sign. Drag the photo directly or adjust the X & Y values to move the red sign.
