Step 1
Turn off the machine, and remove the power cord.
Step 2
Remove the back metal cover.
Step 3
Remove the foam and detach the cables of the laser tueb and the laser PSU.
Step 4
Remove the laser tube's holders.
Step 5
Disconnect the grounding cable of the laser tube.
Step 6
Place the rags underneath the laser tube on both sides.
Step 7
Remove the water hose clamp from the high-pressure side.
Make sure the water hose plug is ready so it can be inserted immediately after the hose is detached.
Step 8
Remove the water hose clamp from the low-pressure side.
Make sure the water hose plug is ready so it can be inserted immediately after the hose is detached.
Step 9
Prepare a bucket in advance to drain the water from the laser tube.
The laser tube can then be removed, and the water will be drained.
Step 10
Remove the front metal cover. (T8 torx screw * 10 pcs.)
Step 11
Unplug the cables on the laser PSU.
Step 12
Remove the four screws on the laser power supply.
Step 13
Remove the laser PSU and place it aside temporarily.
(Please pull out the PSU cable to create more working space.)
Step 14
-
Unmount the water pump from the frame of the machine.
-
Remove the cable of the water pump from the mainboard.
Step 15
Remove the cable of the water pump from the mainboard.
Step 16
Place the rags all around the mainboard and the wires inside the machine.
Please refer to the video.
Step 17
Remove the metal clips on the water hoses.
Step 18
Detach the water pump from the water hoses, then remove the water pump from the system.
Please prepare the hose plugs in advance, as water is likely to leak when the pump is detached. We suggest using the plugs at once.
(Use the paper towel to prevent the water hose from being damaged by the pliers.)
Step 19
Drain the water from the pump and set it aside for later.
Step 20
Disconnect both cooling fan cables from the mainboard.
| If the slot locations or the mainboard appearance differ from the video, refer to this diagram. |
Step 21
If any cable ties secure the fan cables, cut and remove them.
Step 22
Remove the four Phillips screws securing the left cooling fan (the fan closest to the mainboard), then remove the fan. The ground wire is secured by one of these screws.
Step 23
Remove the four Phillips screws securing the right cooling fan (the fan closest to the laser tube), then remove the fan.
Step 24
Remove the screws of the cooling radiator at the bottom of the machine.
(T8 screws x 6 pcs)
Step 25
Remove the cooling radiator from the machine.
Step 26
Remove the water hoses from the radiator. You can skip this step if you have new water hoses to replace.
Step 27
Connect the water hoses to the new radiator. Make sure the water hoses connect to the same positions as in the video.
Step 28
Place the radiator in position. Make sure no wires or cables are underneath the radiator.
Step 29
Fix the radiator by screwing in the bottom screws. (T8 screws x 6pcs)
Step 30
Reinstall the right cooling fan and secure it with the four Phillips screws. Make sure the cable-routing opening on the fan is oriented the same way as on the original fan.
(On your side, the water pump and the laser tube are still removed at this moment.)
Step 31
Reinstall the left cooling fan and secure it with the four Phillips screws. Reattach the ground wire using the same mounting screw that originally secured it.
(On your side, the water pump and the laser tube are still removed at this moment.)
Step 32
Reconnect both cooling fan cables to the two cooling fan connectors on the mainboard.
| Either fan cable can connect to either connector; no specific order is required. |
Step 33
-
Connect the water hoses to the new water pump.
-
If you find the water hose is bent as in the video, please try to twist the water hose to make it unbent.
Step 34
-
Remove the rags and screw the water pump onto the frame.
-
Connect the pump cable to the mainboard.
Step 35
Place the laser PSU in its position.
Step 36
Fix the PSU with the four screws.
Step 37
Plug the cables into the laser PSU.
Step 38
Place the laser tube on the machine and connect the grounding cable to the terminal.
(The grounding cable has to be on the same side as the other one.)
Step 39
From the high-pressure side, remove the hose plug and connect the water hose to the laser tube.
Step 40
From the low-pressure side, remove the hose plug and connect the water hose to the laser tube.
Step 41
Fix the laser tube in place. Please note these two points:
- The distance between the laser tube's nozzle and the first mirror seat will be around 1.5cm (one finger).
- There are two short water hoses on both sides of the laser tube; they have to be horizontal.
Step 42
Place the foam back and connect the cables between the laser tube and the laser PSU.
Step 43
Install the front metal cover. Ensure the Type-C cable's white dot faces up, as shown in the video.
Step 44
Add water to the system.
[4-8 Filling Cooling Water]
Step 45
After adding the water, please align the optical path.
