Chapter 5. The Drawing Robot

Before we start

Before we start drawing, let’s get to know some basic terms in FLUX Studio.

Moving Height

Moving height is the distance between the base plate and the holder module when traveling.

Drawing Height

Drawing height is the distance between the base plate and the holder module when drawing. The value should be greater than the thickness of the workpiece plus the length of the pen sticking out (the recommended length is 15 – 20 mm) to prevent damage caused by the torque while drawing.

Speed

Speed is the module moving speed while drawing. Improper fast speed may damage the workpiece and the pen.

Preparation

1. Remove the laser module from the engraving toolhead in order to use the drawing function.

2. Insert the writing instrument to the holder module. 

Operation Steps

STEP 1 :

Press down the latch on the holder module to remove the laser module.

STEP 2 :

Install the holder module to your FLUX Delta+. Keep in mind that the length of pen sticking our should be within 15 - 20mm.

STEP 3 :

Align and set the work piece on the metal base plate firmly.

STEP 4 :

Switch to drawing function in FLUX Studio and import the SVG file.

STEP 5 :

Adjust parameters accordingly and make sure you understand the definitions of each parameters before proceeding.
