If connecting through a router (WiFi/LAN) is not working, an alternative way is to connect the beamo / Beambox / Beambox Pro and the PC directly with a network cable.
If your Mac doesn't have Ethernet ports, you can purchase an Ethernet USB or Ethernet Type-C adapter on Amazon.
If you're using MacOS Catalina, kindly update the system to at least 10.15.4.
Connect the beamo / Beambox / Beambox Pro with an ethernet cable to your computer.
Open Security & Privacy in System Preferences
Switch to Firewall Tab, and Turn Off Firewall.
Sometimes you need to click the lock at the bottom left to make changes.
If it's already off, skip this step.
Open Sharing in System Preferences.
Switch to Internet Sharing, check the checkbox of your Ethernet Adapter, with a name like USB 10/100/1000 LAN, USB 10/100 LAN or Thunderbolt Ethernet. Set Share your connection from to Wi-Fi, or Ethernet if you're using wired network to connect to the Internet.
Check the checkbox of Internet Sharing, there will be a prompt confirming the setup, click Start.
Click the network icon at the right top of the screen, select Open Network Preferences.
Find your ethernet adapter (USB 10/100/1000 LAN, USB 10/100 LAN or Thunderbolt Ethernet).
Set Configure IPv4 as Using DHCP with manual address, and set IP Address to 192.168.2.1
Go back to the machine touch panel, and click Network.
You should see an IP starts with 192.168 at the Ethernet IP column. If the IP starts with 169.254, then the there might be some misconfiguration at the Mac side, or you may need to replug the ethernet cable.
In the Beam Studio, click Menu > Machines > Machine Setup > beamo / Beambox / Beambox Pro, enter the Ethernet IP shown on the Network page instead of using WiFi IP.
Click START, then the machine should appear on the list in a minute (sometimes requires restarting Beam Studio).
