Description
This article will guide you through how to start an engraving task with FLUX Chuck Rotary.
However, it is strongly recommended that you read through the FLUX Chuck Manual before your first engraving.
Note: Please make sure before you start your engraving that the framing function in Beam Studio is used to determine and check if the actual engraving area and size are correct. (Referring to Step 19.) |
Step 1
Please make sure that your Ador Extension Base is correctly installed before going to the next step.

Step 2
Please make sure you have the following software and firmware versions to use Ador's rotary function.
Beam Studio Version 2.4.2 or above (Guide) |
The firmware version 5.3.5 or above. (Guide) |

Step 3
Find the cable from the box and insert the 7-pin side of the cable on the right side into the machine. The cable socket on the machine is between the top of the base and the bottom of the machine.
- Find the 7-pin side of the cable from the box. (The pin in the middle will be empty.)
- Find the cable socket on the right side of the machine. Using a mirror is highly recommended.
- Insert the cable, and please make sure the direction of the cable is correct.
- Put the rest of the cable into the space temporarily.
Step 4
Depending on the diameter of your material, the honeycomb can be installed or not.

If your material's diameter is smaller than 50mm or its circumference is smaller than 157mm, the honeycomb must be installed in the bottom layer (117mm/4.6 inches).
Please refer to the article for honeycomb installation. - The honeycomb is unnecessary if your material is bigger than the above-mentioned sizes.

Step 5
Install the module.
Refer to the links in the table below for the installation guides for modules.
Step 6
Install the jaws on the rotary based on the material you will be using.
Please refer to the manual for the jaws installation instructions.

Step 7
Place the rotary with jaws installed in the machine.
Step 8
Insert the cable into the rotary. (For Ador, the cable is 6-pin.)
Step 9
Turn on the machine.
Step 10
Measure your material's diameter or circumference and record it for later use.
(*It's recommended to use unwanted material for practicing and testing purposes for the first time.)
Step 11
Grip the material with the rotary and level it.
(Please refer to the Rotary Chuck guide for gripping different shapes.)
Step 12
Perform auto-focus.

Move the nozzle tip to the center of the area you wish to engrave.

Launch Beam Studio.
Step 15
Go to "Document Settings" and make the changes.

Create an engraving object or import your own.
Depending on your design, it will usually be rotated 90 degrees to match the same orientation of the material.
Step 18
After setting up your design, move the center of the design to the blue line.

Use the "Running Frame" function to see the path of the engraving.

Once you've confirmed the engraving position, set the correct speed and power rate parameters based on your material.
Step 21
Close the door and start the task.
Step 22
Check the result.
