If connecting through a router (WiFi/LAN) is not working, an alternative way is to connect the beamo / Beambox / Beambox Pro and the PC directly with a network cable.
This works under Windows 10 Environment, for Mac Users, check here.
If your PC/Laptop doesn't have Ethernet ports, you can purchase an Ethernet USB adapter on Amazon.
Step 1
Connect the beamo / Beambox / Beambox Pro with an ethernet cable to your computer.
Step 2
Right-click on the Network Icon at the right bottom of your Windows
Open Network & Internet Settings
Step 3
Click Change adapter settings
Step 4
You should see two or more networks in the Network Connections window.
Usually, you'll have a regular network "Ethernet" or "Wi-Fi", which is connecting to the internet, and mostly it's the far left one.
There will also be a new Unidentified Network, which is connecting to the beamo / Beambox / Beambox Pro.
Step 5
Right-click on the regular network, and click Properties
Step 6
In the Properties window, switch to the sharing tab, and check Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection, and Allow other network users to control or disable the shared Internet connection.
Then click OK.
Step 7
Go back to the machine touch panel, and click Network.
You should see an IP starts with 192.168 at the Ethernet IP column. (If it's starts with 169.254, then the there might be some misconfiguration at the PC side, or you may need to replug the ethernet cable)
Step 8
In the Beam Studio, click Menu > Machines > Machine Setup > Direct Connection, enter the Ethernet IP shown on the Network page on touch panel instead of using Wireless IP.
Click Next, the software will check the IP availability, then the machine should appear on the list in a minute (sometimes requires restarting Beam Studio).
