Description
If you feel that the distance after autofocus is not correct or not desired, or you want to increase or decrease the distance of the autofocus by yourself, Ador has a built-in function that can adjust the distance.
Please check and adjust the focus distance according to the steps below.
The distance can be fine-tuned by ±2mm.
Default Distance:
All laser modules (2W/10W/20W) | Printing module |
12mm (The nozzle tip and the surface of the material.) |
2-3mm |
Step 1:
Prepare a piece of solid material such as acrylic or wood..etc. and a triangular prism that came with the machine in the accessory box.
Step 2:
Put the material in the center of the bed and use the button or the touch panel to perform autofocus.
Step 3:
Take a look at the triangular prism. You will find a side that has a height of 12mm that has a flat edge.
After checking on the prism, insert it into the gap between the material's surface and the nozzle tip.
Observe the distance to determine whether it is too long or too short.

Step 4:
Go to the function to adjust the distance manually.
(Machine > Settings > Hardware Settings > Probe error correction)
Step 5:
Setting the value to “-” will reduce the distance by the unit of mm. (Lower the module)
Setting the value to “+” will increase the distance by the unit of mm. (Raise the module)
Example #1: If the prism can't be inserted, it indicates the distance is too short, so the module has to be raised. In this case, the value has to be increased. |
Example #2: If the gap is big after inserting the prism, it indicates the distance is too long, so the module has to be lowered. In this case, the value has to be reduced. |
